SsangYong, now called KG Mobility, is Korea's rugged-SUV and pickup specialist.
SsangYong has built tough, body-on-frame SUVs and pickups in Korea for decades. In 2022 the KG Group bought the company, and in 2023 it took a new name, KG Mobility (often shortened to KGM). You will see both names on cars from this period. The badge on the car may still say SsangYong while the paperwork says KG Mobility. It is the same maker.
The brand's whole idea is honest value. You get a real ladder-frame off-roader like the Rexton, or a one-tonne pickup like the Musso, for a lot less than a European or Japanese rival costs. Newer cars like the Torres and the Actyon show a sharper, more modern side, with clean cabins and hybrid power. Because these are Korean home-market cars, buying from Korea means strong choice and fair prices.
