The G80 is the mid-size executive sedan, the car that sits against the BMW 5 Series, the Mercedes E-Class and the Audi A6. It is the volume Genesis saloon, big and comfortable, and the current shape from 2021 is one of the best-looking cars in its class. From Korea it is a smart buy because a well-kept G80 lands far below a comparable German car of the same age, and it wants for very little.
The G80 is set up for comfort first. It is quiet, the ride is soft and long trips pass easily, though the 3.5T V6 still gives it real pace when you ask. Inside it feels wide and calm, with a long, thin dashboard screen on the newer cars and materials that surprise people who have not sat in a Genesis. The standout is the sense of space and quiet for the money.
