Chevrolet in Korea is the home-grown American brand, with cars built by GM Korea alongside a handful of full-size models shipped in from the United States.
Chevrolet has deep roots in Korea. GM Korea builds several Chevrolet models at its own plants near Incheon and in Changwon, which is why cars like the Trailblazer, the Trax Crossover, the Spark and the Malibu were engineered with Korean buyers in mind. These are not grey imports. They were sold new through Chevrolet Korea showrooms, serviced by the local network, and priced to compete head-on with Hyundai and Kia.
The rest of the range comes from America. The Colorado pickup, the big Traverse and Tahoe SUVs and the Bolt electric cars are shipped in from GM plants in the United States and sold as premium imports. So a Korean-market Chevrolet gives you two clear paths: a sensible, locally built runabout or family car with easy parts and low running costs, or a genuine American truck or SUV at a used price that undercuts what the same metal costs almost anywhere else.
