The X1 is BMW's smallest regular SUV. It sits at the entry point of the range, up against the Audi Q3 and Mercedes GLA, with the Volvo XC40 and Range Rover Evoque close by. This U11 generation is bigger and more upright than the old one, so it feels like a real family car, not a jacked-up hatch. From Korea it makes sense as a low-mileage way into a premium badge without paying new-car money.
Inside, the big draw is the Curved Display, one sweep of glass holding the driver screen and the touchscreen, running the latest iDrive. Space in the back and the boot is genuinely good for the class. It drives light and easy in town, tidy on a back road, and the diesels are quiet cruisers once up to speed.
