The SL is Mercedes' classic roadster, a two-seat convertible with a folding soft top. The latest version is built by AMG and rivals the Porsche 911 Cabriolet. It is a low-volume car, so used examples are scarce, and Korea's clean, low-mileage cars can be hard to match elsewhere. For a buyer who wants an open-top Mercedes, this is the flagship one.
The current SL brought back a soft top and added small back seats, mixing sports-car pace with grand-touring comfort. Inside it has a tilting portrait screen and rich trim. The AMG SL43 uses a strong four-cylinder, while the SL55 and SL63 use a twin-turbo V8 with serious power. Older SL400 and SL500 models offer a softer, more relaxed drive.
