The G70 is Genesis's compact sport sedan, the smallest car in the range. It was built to take on the BMW 3 Series, the Mercedes C-Class, the Audi A4 and the Lexus IS, and it does it well. It won MotorTrend Car of the Year in 2019, the first Korean car ever to do so. From Korea it is a strong buy because you get a genuine rear-drive sports sedan, often with the big V6, for a fraction of what the German badges cost used.
This is the driver's car of the Genesis line. It is small, tight and quick to turn, and the 3.3T version is properly fast. Inside it is snug rather than huge, with quilted leather on the higher trims and a clean, simple dashboard. The standout is how planted and eager it feels on a back road, closer to a BMW than most people expect from the brand.
