The XM is BMW M's own standalone super-SUV, and its first plug-in hybrid M car. It is bold, huge, and built to sit at the top of the M range above the X5 M and X6 M. Rivals are few, but think Lamborghini Urus, Aston Martin DBX, and the Ferrari Purosangue. Korea is worth checking here. These are rare, expensive flagships, so Korean cars are usually low-mileage showpieces kept in top shape.
The powertrain pairs a 4.4 twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor and a battery, so it can creep silently or launch with huge force. It rides big and heavy but turns sharper than you expect for the size. Inside it is wild, with a sculpted headliner, thick leather, and a lounge-like rear. The standout thing is that it can drive short trips on electric power alone, then turn into a brute.
