The X5 M is a big luxury SUV with a full M V8 under the hood. It carries five people in comfort and still runs supercar numbers. Rivals are the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, and the Audi RS Q8. Korea is a good source. These are pricey cars new, so Korean examples are usually well kept, garaged, and lightly used, which matters a lot on a heavy performance SUV.
The 4.4 twin-turbo V8 is the star. It shoves the big body forward with ease and makes a deep, hard sound. Yet it can still cruise quietly and soak up bumps in the softer modes. Inside it is roomy and rich, with quilted leather, two big screens, and heavy M detailing. The standout thing is how a two-and-a-half-ton SUV can feel this quick.
