The iX1 is the fully electric version of BMW's smallest SUV, the X1. It is a compact, easy-to-live-with car that suits city driving and small families. Rivals include the Mercedes EQA, the Volvo EX40, and the Audi Q4 e-tron. It is one of the more affordable ways into an electric BMW, and Korean cars are often well equipped, which makes it a sensible buy.
The iX1 drives in a light, nimble way and feels quick off the line thanks to instant electric pull. It has two motors for all-wheel grip. Inside it is modern and roomy for its size, with the curved BMW screen and a clean, simple layout. The standout thing is how normal and easy it feels, a proper BMW that just happens to be electric.
